The Benefits of Acupuncture

There have been many studies done on acupuncture in order to determine the efficacy of using acupuncture to help with pain management and other conditions including addiction, headaches, and stroke rehabilitation. The results have been mixed, mostly due to the complexities of acupuncture. Still, the results have shown that overall, it seems to be beneficial. In fact, WHO has designated 28 conditions that can be benefited by acupuncture. These include:

  • Tension headaches / migraines
  • Depression
  • Hay fever
  • Hypertension
  • Knee pain
  • Morning sickness
  • Correcting the position of the fetus
  • Nausea and vomiting

These are just some of the conditions that acupuncture has been known to help. The practice of acupuncture has existed for thousands of years and found its start in ancient China. Despite the fact that acupuncture has been shown to work, it’s not known scientifically how or why it works. Is it possibly a placebo effect? Many say it’s not; in fact, the article in the British Medical Journal, “Acupuncture Is Grounded In Science, Not Myth And Magic” claims that the practice is firmly grounded in science.

Acupuncture started to become popular in the U.S. in the 1970s when Americans experienced the practice in China and found that it was very effective. When it comes to acupuncture, though, be sure to find someone that is truly trained in the art; it’s possible to find someone who does not know what he or she is doing and the treatment may prove ineffective. Ask the acupuncturist if he or she has certification by a national acupuncture organization.

Get Natural to Get Your Sexual Health Back

If you’re concerned by headlines which occur with seeming increasing regularity, pronouncing scary findings connected with various concoctions created by laboratories to deal with every health malady, you’re not alone. In an effort to regain their health – physical, emotional, and even sexual – people have been turning in ever larger numbers to natural remedies. Before you begin scoffing at the notion, associating ‘natural’ with waving a twig over a wound and anticipating a miraculous recovery, think again.

Natural healing and health products have been used by virtually every culture on the planet since the dawn of time. Part of the reason the human species has survived is that our forebears were wise enough to test natural substances and figure out what they cured. Even the subject matter of male impotence has been handled successfully for generations using natural methods; however, sometimes it is necessary to buy Viagra online. Exercise constitutes a natural method for helping end erectile dysfunction. Often, the increase in blood flow and decrease in high blood pressure that accompanies regular exercise is enough to curtail the problem. Quitting smoking follows the same line of thought, and also helps. Eating healthier – increasing vitamin rich foods and dropping processed foods – is as important as anything in getting your body back on track. All are natural methods.

If you try the above solutions for some time and the end results are dissatisfactory, you can still see a doctor to assess the situation. Short of that, you could always buy viagra online. That method has repeatedly been shown to raise more than just one’s spirits! But be sure to attempt the natural healing method first – your body will appreciate the care.

The Importance of Peppers

Green and red cubanelle peppers

Image via Wikipedia

If you have ever had a garden, you have no doubt received all sorts of advice about how important it supposedly is for you to grow lots of peppers.  After a little while, most beginning gardeners get tired of constantly hearing about peppers.  After all, most people do not eat them as a snack food all by themselves, and a lot of people think that all peppers are hot.  Of course, this is not the case, but the idea has stuck with enough people that this needs to be cleared up.  While not all peppers are hot, hot peppers are actually the best for your health, provided that you eat them in moderation and do not go over board with them.  This is a very easy thing to mess up on, and the health benefits will be lost to you if you end up injuring yourself and swearing off peppers just on principle.

For one thing, most kinds of peppers are loaded down with antioxidants.  These are little chemicals that protect your body from the toxins which can form up in your blood, known as free radicals.  When it comes to free radicals, peppers are one of your best friends.  And when you eat red peppers, the lycopene in them (which is what causes them to be red in the first place) helps you with your prostate.  Yes, if you are a woman this will not help you at all, but it might help your favorite men a little bit.

One of the unsung heroic things that peppers do for us every day is that many of them are spicy.  And while a lot of people do not especially like spicy foods, these are the kinds of foods which do the most to help you in your efforts to lose weight and trim down.  Consider the fact that when you eat something which is spicy, your metabolism speeds up, because your body wants to purge out the spicy chemicals.  This is not the same thing as drinking caffeine, which is essentially poisoning yourself to a small extent.  This is healthy.
